The Decathlon was created with two things in mind.

1. To beat everyone in an intense competition.

2. To get in really kick ass shape.

Here is the basic principle of The Decathlon.

We train for ten events and we compete against each other over a couple of weeks in the summer. That gives us 6 months to train, workout etc. If you take it seriously you should lose weight and get in shape.

Scoring – If we have 10 guys competing then first place finish in an event gives you 10 points. Second place 9 points and so on and so forth. At the end of all ten events the athlete with the most total points wins.

Here are the list of events in no particular order.

1. 10 Kilometer run (we are going to enter the Zareinu moveathon for this event)
2. Push-ups (who can do the most)
3. Sit-ups (who can do the most)
4. 50 yard dash
5. long jump
6. Pull-ups (who can do the most)
7. 200 yard dash
8. jump rope
9. The “120 Stairs” Challenge – (this is my personal favorite – we run up to the 15th floor cut across the hall and go down the other steps, run across the lobby and go back up. We do it 3 times for a total of 45 flights of stairs).
10. Wild Card Event – This event will be voted upon by the participants.
